Lecturer(s): doc. dr. Malec Maja
The course deals with philosophical problems of contemporary logic, that is the philosophical problems of contemporary logic itself as well as the investigation of philosophical problems with methods of contemporary logic.
Examples of the first are the question whether there is one, universal logic, or a plurality of logics, as well as what the correct understanding of quantifiers in predicate logic is. Examples of the second are, for instance, semantical paradoxes and the self-reference problem, the role of conditionals and counterfactuals in epistemology and metaphysics, the identity issues, truth in fiction and so forth.
