Overwiev of Slovene literature: Middle Ages (Freising manuscrtipts, church songs and prayers), Protestantism, catholic Reformation (church songs, sermons), development of the secular song before Pisanice, Pisanice, Vodnik and Prešeren, poets and writers between Romanticism and Realism (from Jarnik to Tavčar, with emphasis on the development of the Slovene novel), Slovene moderna (with emphasis on the development of Slovene drama). Then synthetic presentation of lyrics, epics and drama in the period between the two world wars and their development in the second half of the 20th century along with basic information on culture, politics, society, national question; on the role of educational system, print and periodical publication; on aesthetic orientations and literary programs. The analysis and interpretation of individual works from stylistic, sociological, ethical, philosophical standpoint.
